The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) officially gave approval to a plan that will remove the lower four dams on the Klamath River, according to ABC. This is the largest dam removal project in American history. Dam removal will reopen some 300 miles of salmon and steelhead habitat throughout the Klamath drainage. A malfunction in the turbine system at Little Goose Dam in Washington resulted in 300 to 600 gallons of oil leaking into the Snake River, per Courtney Flatt at KUOW.
