The x stimulator is an attractor pattern that is as effective as it is fun to fish. Developed to imitate the giant stonefly, the Stimulator will also imitate grasshoppers and other terrestrial insects. This pattern floats extremely well and is perfectly suited for faster moving water and "pocket-water" where fish are holding. Fish this fly on a dead drift where you expect to see fish and it will bring hungry trout from the depths. This fly is also an effective "hopper-dropper" additive as it will float high when smaller nymphs and midges are dropped 2-4 feet below it.
