Wetfly Bead Head Zebra Midge Black Nymph Fly – 1 Dozen Fly Fishing Flies

This fly is an important part of a trout's diet throughout the year and water columns. The Zebra Midge imitates the midge pupa as it is carried by the current or rises to the surface of still water. Without any major means of propulsion, this fly should be drifted with the current of the river or suspended below a dry fly or strike indicator to keep the drift "drag free." Fish generally attack this fly gently, so a watchful angler with a practiced drift into feeding zones will be most effective. This is a "go-to" fly during the winter when water flows are slower and clean. Many anglers will use this fly in conjunction with a nymph and emerger on 3-fly setups while indicator fishing to cover a variety of depths and insect species-the zebra midge generally takes the strike.
