Super easy to install gear for boats, and especially ideal for kayaks or even a canoe, with just 4 screws (included). Due to swivel function, these rod holders can mount on side or top. It will literally only take a few minutes to install.
Ball mechanism allows all possible positions and adjustment at any angle, left or right, up or down, vertical or horizontal - the full 360 degrees.
Fits an underhand spinning rod in the notch at the top on the underside (see images). Notch is 7/8th in (2.25cm) wide (remember to measure the pole and reel combo to check they will dock into the notch).
The diameter of the small internal barrel is 1.25in (3.2cm). The small barrel pivots at the base allowing movement and extension. It gives stability to the holder, unlike the clips type holders (like Attwood gear) that users say can lock too hard making it a struggle to get the rod out. Barrel accommodates narrow bass and fly rods, inshore and offshore ocean rods and accommodates larger diameter poles.
